About Countries of Africa bingo
Countries of Africa Bingo includes all 54 African member states of the United Nations, from “Algeria” and “Egypt” in the north to “Lesotho” and “Eswatini” in the south, plus island nations like “Mauritius” and “Cabo Verde”. It is a full-list review for middle- and high-school geography and a fair challenge for adults who can name only a handful.
This Countries of Africa list is 54 entries long and a 5x5 card with a free center takes 24, which leaves 30 off each card. That is why one entry (Benin, say) appears on about 13 of 30 cards: card 1, for instance, has no Angola or Botswana.
The caller reads the 54 entries from a shuffled caller sheet and players mark them; the first complete line (row, column or diagonal) wins.

How to host Countries of Africa bingo
-
Print the Countries of Africa cards
Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with Niger, Eswatini, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone and Gabon.
-
Print the caller sheet
All 54 entries appear on it in shuffled order, opening with Somalia, Djibouti, Cameroon, Eritrea and Kenya; tick each one as you read it out.
-
Call similar names in the same round, such as “Niger” and “Nigeria”, “Guinea” and “Guinea-Bissau”, or “Sudan” and “South Sudan”, so players must read each square carefully.
-
Show the two Congos on the map when you call them: “DR Congo” has Kinshasa as its capital and “Republic of the Congo” has Brazzaville, right across the river.
-
Ask players to say which coast or region the country is on before marking, so “Senegal” becomes west and “Somalia” becomes the Horn of Africa.
-
Call until someone shouts bingo
With 30 cards, expect the first line near call 15 (Gambia in this set's order) and a blackout near call 49; check the winner's squares against your ticked list.

A 4x4 card needs 16 of the 54 entries and no free space; one card is full after about 51.8 calls instead of 52.8.

Frequently asked questions
How many words are on the Countries of Africa bingo list?
54, from Algeria to Zimbabwe. A 5x5 card with a free center uses 24 of them, so each card leaves out 30. The shortest entry is Chad (4 characters) and the longest is São Tomé and Príncipe (21).
Are all Countries of Africa bingo cards the same?
No. Card 1 and card 2 of this set share 10 of their 24 squares, and every card is checked so none of the 30 in a free set repeats. About 8.70 × 10³⁸ different arrangements are possible from the 54 entries (about 1.40 × 10¹⁵ different selections of 24).
How many Countries of Africa bingo cards per person?
One card each is standard. In 150 simulated games of this list, 30 players on one card each got a first line after a median 15 calls; with two cards each (60 in play) it came after 13, and 10 single cards took 19. Two cards suit adults who want a faster game; young children do best with one. A free set of 30 covers 15 players on two cards each.
How long does Countries of Africa bingo take?
A Countries of Africa game with 30 players usually reaches its first line after 15 calls (11-20 in 80% of simulated games), about 3 minutes at one call every 10 seconds. A blackout takes about 49; with 10 players the first line needs about 19.
Can I print Countries of Africa bingo cards for free?
Yes. The generator above makes up to 30 cards (5x5 cards with a free center) from the 54 entries; Print cards sends them to your printer and Download PDF saves one card per page, so 30 cards take 30 pages plus the caller sheet. It all runs in your browser with no sign-up.
How do I make my own Countries of Africa bingo cards?
Start from this list: the 54 entries are already in the generator, so delete Liberia or any other entry, type your own one per line and the cards update as you type. Keep at least 24 entries for 5x5 cards (16 for 4x4); the share link reprints exactly the same set.
