About Self-Care bingo

Self-Care Bingo is a gentle checklist of habits that support rest and wellbeing, such as “Drink water”, “Eight hours of sleep”, a “Sunshine break” and “Leave work on time”. Practical squares like “Book a checkup” and “Declutter a shelf” sit next to small comforts such as a “Cup of tea” or a “Cozy blanket”, so the card works for wellness weeks, teams and personal monthly challenges.

This Self-Care list is 42 tasks long and a 5x5 card with a free center takes 24, which leaves 18 off each card. That is why one entry (“Morning stretch”, say) appears on about 17 of 30 cards: card 1, for instance, has no “Drink water” or “Bubble bath”.

There is no caller: each player marks a square once they have done it, such as “Meditate” or “Say no politely”, over an agreed week or month. A line takes 5 squares (4 on a line through the free center); a full card takes all 24.

Self-Care bingo as a called game

For a one-session version, draw the 42 tasks at random like a classic game. 150 shuffled orders on this set's first 60 cards: with 30 players the first line comes after a median 12 calls (about 2 minutes at 10 seconds a call); a blackout needs 38.

How to play Self-Care bingo

  1. Print the Self-Care cards

Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with “Morning stretch”, “Face mask”, “Journal entry”, “Say no politely” and “Leave work on time”.

  2. Agree on the time frame

Each player marks a square once it is done, such as “Meditate” or “Say no politely”. Set the period first (a week, a month, a season); a line needs 5 squares (4 on a line through the free center) and a full card all 24.

  3. Run it for a month rather than a day; squares like “Book a checkup” and “Fresh sheets” are weekly or monthly habits, not daily ones.

  4. For a team challenge, keep marking private and share only the count of squares completed, so no one feels judged on their habits.

  5. Let people swap any square that does not fit their life, for example “Bubble bath” for a shower playlist, using the custom words box.

  6. Check the card

Ask the winner what they did for each square on the line. A full card is 24 of the 42 tasks; card 1 of this set, for example, includes “Morning stretch” and “Face mask”.

Self-Care bingo variations

  • Self-Care variation

Kind streak: players try to mark at least one square every day for a week; anyone who keeps the streak going chooses a self-care square for the whole group to try on Monday.

  • Blackout round

Card 1 needs all 24 tasks, “Morning stretch” to “Sunshine break”; over a 30-day month that is about 5.6 tasks a week.

  • Quick 4x4 round

A 4x4 card has 16 squares and no free space, so a full card needs 16 tasks instead of 24; lines take 4.

First 15 entries on the Self-Care caller sheet

Seed "self-care" gives this order, the same one the caller sheet prints (use it as a checklist, or call from it). With these entries in this order, card 20 of the first 30 completes the diagonal from the top left (“Drink water”, “Leave work on time”, “Favorite playlist” and “Floss”) on entry 7, and card 8 is the first full card on entry 38.

Frequently asked questions

How many tasks are on the Self-Care bingo list?

42, from Ask for help to Water a houseplant. A 5x5 card with a free center uses 24 of them, so each card leaves out 18. The shortest entry is Floss (5 characters) and the longest is Eight hours of sleep (20).

Are all Self-Care bingo cards the same?

No. Card 1 and card 2 of this set share 14 of their 24 squares, and every card is checked so none of the 30 in a free set repeats. About 2.19 × 10³⁵ different arrangements are possible from the 42 tasks (353,697,121,050 different selections of 24).

How many Self-Care bingo cards per person?

One card per player: each card is a personal checklist of 24 tasks. A free set of 30 cards covers 30 players, and New shuffle makes another set for a bigger group.

How do you play Self-Care bingo?

There is no caller: each player marks a square once they have done it, such as “Meditate” or “Say no politely”, over an agreed week or month. A line takes 5 squares (4 on a line through the free center); a full card takes all 24.

Can I print Self-Care bingo cards for free?

Yes, up to 30 unique cards per set at no cost and without an account. Pick how many you need, then use Print cards or Download PDF: each card gets its own page with the title “Self-Care Bingo” on top, and the caller sheet lists all 42 tasks in this set's shuffled order.

How do I make my own Self-Care bingo cards?

Start from this list: the 42 tasks are already in the generator, so delete “Journal entry” or any other entry, type your own one per line and the cards update as you type. Keep at least 24 entries for 5x5 cards (16 for 4x4); the share link reprints exactly the same set.
