About Webinar bingo

Webinar Bingo follows a typical online presentation from “Can everyone hear me?” and “Give it a minute” through the “Housekeeping slide”, a “Poll pops up” moment and “Bullet-point overload” to the promised “Recording will be sent”. It suits training teams, students watching online classes and anyone hosting a public webinar who wants the audience to stay attentive.

On a 5x5 card with a free center, Webinar bingo shows 24 of the 42 moments, so each one lands on about 57% of the cards: in a set of 30, “Can everyone hear me?” or “Give it a minute” appears on roughly 17 cards. Card 1 leaves out 18 of them, including “Can everyone hear me?”, “Chat says hello” and “Where are you from?”, so no single card can mark everything.

There is no caller: everyone marks a square the moment it happens or is said, such as “Free resource” or “Link to sign up”. The first complete line wins; the caller sheet is the host's checklist.

How many moments until Webinar bingo has a winner

Nobody controls the order here, so this table assumes the 42 moments come up in random order: 150 shuffled orders on the first 60 cards of this set. With 30 players the first line comes after a median 12 moments; a blackout needs 38 of the 42, so most games end on a line.

How to play Webinar bingo

  1. Print the Webinar cards

Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with “Free resource”, “Waiting for latecomers”, “Live demo”, “Housekeeping slide” and “Download the slides”.

  2. Watch and mark, no caller needed

Players mark a square the moment it happens or is said, “Free resource” for example. Keep the shuffled caller sheet (opening with “Big statistic”, “Key takeaways” and “Back one slide”) as your checklist, or read from it to run a called game instead.

  3. Hosts can share the game link in the welcome message, so attendees have cards ready before “Waiting for latecomers” is over.

  4. Ask winners to post their completed row in the chat, which also checks attention: “Key takeaways” and “Case study” should match what was actually shown.

  5. For a thirty-minute webinar, use a 3x3 card built from frequent moments like “Agenda slide”, “Great question” and “Q&A at the end”.

  6. Check the winning line

If the moments come in random order, 30 players see a first line after about 12 of them; ask the winner when each square on the line happened and compare with your checklist.

Webinar bingo variations

  • Webinar variation

Presenter's challenge: the speaker gets a card too and tries to avoid “Slides won't advance” and “Running out of time”; if the audience completes a row first, the presenter answers one bonus question.

  • Blackout round

Card 1 needs all 24 moments, “Free resource” to “Back one slide”; if they come in random order, one card fills after 41.3 of the 42 on average, so save it for a long event.

  • Quick 4x4 round

A 4x4 card needs 16 of the 42 moments and no free space; one card is full after about 40.5 moments instead of 41.3.

First 15 entries on the Webinar caller sheet

Seed "webinar-bingo" gives this order, the same one the caller sheet prints (use it as a checklist, or call from it). With these entries in this order, card 11 of the first 30 completes the diagonal from the top left (“Chat says hello”, “Stock photo”, “Thank you for joining” and “Key takeaways”) on entry 15, and card 3 is the first full card on entry 35.

Frequently asked questions

How many moments are on the Webinar bingo list?

42, from Agenda slide to Where are you from?. A 5x5 card with a free center uses 24 of them, so each card leaves out 18. The shortest entry is Live demo (9 characters) and the longest is Waiting for latecomers (22).

Are all Webinar bingo cards the same?

No. Card 1 and card 2 of this set share 13 of their 24 squares, and every card is checked so none of the 30 in a free set repeats. About 2.19 × 10³⁵ different arrangements are possible from the 42 moments (353,697,121,050 different selections of 24).

How many Webinar bingo cards per person?

Usually one. Extra cards speed the game up only a little: on this list a first line took a median 12 moments with 30 cards in play, 10 with 60 (30 players on two cards each) and 16 with just 10. Two cards each suit a small group that wants a quicker game. A free set of 30 covers 15 players on two cards each.

How do you play Webinar bingo?

There is no caller: everyone marks a square the moment it happens or is said, such as “Free resource” or “Link to sign up”. The first complete line wins; the caller sheet is the host's checklist.

How long does Webinar bingo take?

A Webinar game with 30 players usually reaches its first line after 12 moments (9-16 in 80% of simulated games). A blackout takes about 38; with 10 players the first line needs about 16.

Can I print Webinar bingo cards for free?

Yes. All 42 moments are loaded above, so choose a card count up to 30 and press Print cards, or Download PDF to print later at one card per sheet (30 sheets for a full set). The shuffled caller sheet prints separately; nothing is uploaded or stored on a server.

How do I make my own Webinar bingo cards?

Open Edit words in the generator above: it already holds the 42 moments, one per line. Replace “Recording will be sent” with something from your own group, add inside jokes or names, and the sample card redraws at once. 5x5 cards need 24 entries or more.
