About Video Call bingo

Video Call Bingo is built for remote meetings and online classes, with squares for the moments every call seems to have: “You're on mute”, “Frozen screen”, “Pet on camera”, “Ceiling view” and “Wrong window shared”. It needs nothing beyond your usual call software, and it gives quiet participants a reason to keep their eyes on the screen.

44 moments make up this Video Call set. With 24 per card, any single one, “Plant in background” for example, appears on about 55% of the cards, so in a room of 30 players around 16 of them have it.

There is no caller: everyone marks a square the moment it happens or is said, such as “Camera stays off” or “Forehead only”. The first complete line wins; the caller sheet is the host's checklist.

How many moments until Video Call bingo has a winner

Nobody controls the order here, so this table assumes the 44 moments come up in random order: 150 shuffled orders on the first 60 cards of this set. With 30 players the first line comes after a median 12 moments; a blackout needs 40 of the 44, so most games end on a line.

How to play Video Call bingo

  1. Print the Video Call cards

Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with “Link in the chat”, “Cross-talk”, “Chat side thread”, “Typing noise” and “Notification sound”.

  2. Watch and mark, no caller needed

Players mark a square the moment it happens or is said, “Camera stays off” for example. Keep the shuffled caller sheet (opening with “Headphones on”, “Hat or hoodie” and “Bad lighting”) as your checklist, or read from it to run a called game instead.

  3. Send the share link or a PDF before the call so everyone has a unique card ready to mark, starting with “Late joiner” and “Link in the chat”.

  4. Ask players to type Bingo in the chat to claim, then read their marked squares aloud, such as “Audio lag” and “Doorbell rings”, for the host to check.

  5. Keep it kind: squares like “Child walks in” and “Eating on camera” are about shared experience, so never call out a specific colleague by name.

  6. Check the winning line

If the moments come in random order, 30 players see a first line after about 12 of them; ask the winner when each square on the line happened and compare with your checklist.

Video Call bingo variations

  • Video Call variation

Camera-on challenge: players can only mark a square while their own camera is on, and the first full row must include “Virtual background” or “Breakout room” to count.

  • Blackout round

Card 1 needs all 24 moments, “Link in the chat” to “Low battery warning”; if they come in random order, one card fills after 43.2 of the 44 on average, so save it for a long event.

  • Quick 4x4 round

A 4x4 card needs 16 of the 44 moments and no free space; one card is full after about 42.4 moments instead of 43.2.

First 15 entries on the Video Call caller sheet

Seed "video-call-bingo" gives this order, the same one the caller sheet prints (use it as a checklist, or call from it). With these entries in this order, card 14 of the first 30 completes row 2 (“Hat or hoodie”, “Headphones on”, “Phone dial-in”, “Bad lighting” and “Link in the chat”) on entry 6, and card 2 is the first full card on entry 38.

Frequently asked questions

How many moments are on the Video Call bingo list?

44, from Accidental unmute to You're on mute. A 5x5 card with a free center uses 24 of them, so each card leaves out 20. The shortest entry is Audio lag (9 characters) and the longest is Can you see my screen? (22).

Are all Video Call bingo cards the same?

No. Card 1 and card 2 of this set share 10 of their 24 squares, and every card is checked so none of the 30 in a free set repeats. About 1.09 × 10³⁶ different arrangements are possible from the 44 moments (1,761,039,350,070 different selections of 24).

How many Video Call bingo cards per person?

Usually one. Extra cards speed the game up only a little: on this list a first line took a median 12 moments with 30 cards in play, 11 with 60 (30 players on two cards each) and 15 with just 10. Two cards each suit a small group that wants a quicker game. A free set of 30 covers 15 players on two cards each.

How do you play Video Call bingo?

There is no caller: everyone marks a square the moment it happens or is said, such as “Camera stays off” or “Forehead only”. The first complete line wins; the caller sheet is the host's checklist.

How long does Video Call bingo take?

A Video Call game with 30 players usually reaches its first line after 12 moments (8-16 in 80% of simulated games). A blackout takes about 40; with 10 players the first line needs about 15.

Can I print Video Call bingo cards for free?

Yes, up to 30 unique cards per set at no cost and without an account. Pick how many you need, then use Print cards or Download PDF: each card gets its own page with the title “Video Call Bingo” on top, and the caller sheet lists all 44 moments in this set's shuffled order.

How do I make my own Video Call bingo cards?

Start from this list: the 44 moments are already in the generator, so delete “Hat or hoodie” or any other entry, type your own one per line and the cards update as you type. Keep at least 24 entries for 5x5 cards (16 for 4x4); the share link reprints exactly the same set.
