About Meeting bingo
Meeting Bingo turns the everyday rituals of a long meeting into squares: “Meeting starts late”, “Could be an email”, “Marker runs dry”, “Room double-booked” and the classic “Parking lot item”. It works for in-person team meetings, weekly syncs and staff briefings, and it nudges people to notice habits worth fixing without singling anyone out.
42 moments make up this Meeting set. With 24 per card, any single one, “Next steps” for example, appears on about 57% of the cards, so in a room of 30 players around 17 of them have it.
There is no caller: everyone marks a square the moment it happens or is said, such as “Wrong meeting link” or “Someone on mute”. The first complete line wins; the caller sheet is the host's checklist.

How many moments until Meeting bingo has a winner
Nobody controls the order here, so this table assumes the 42 moments come up in random order: 150 shuffled orders on the first 60 cards of this set. With 30 players the first line comes after a median 13 moments; a blackout needs 38 of the 42, so most games end on a line.
| Players | First line | Line, 80% range | Blackout | Blackout, 80% range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 players | 15 moments | 10-19 | 39 moments | 37-41 |
| 30 players | 13 moments | 9-16 | 38 moments | 37-40 |
| 60 players | 11 moments | 8-14 | 38 moments | 36-39 |

How to play Meeting bingo
-
Print the Meeting cards
Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with “Spreadsheet on screen”, “Silent pause”, “Same slide twice”, “Quick question” and “Calendar conflict”.
-
Watch and mark, no caller needed
Players mark a square the moment it happens or is said, “Wrong meeting link” for example. Keep the shuffled caller sheet (opening with “Laptop dies”, “Recap for latecomer” and “No agenda sent”) as your checklist, or read from it to run a called game instead.
-
Agree beforehand that squares are marked quietly; a soft tap on the table for “Runs over time” keeps the game fun rather than disruptive.
-
Pair the card with a real goal: if “Action items listed” and “Next steps” are both marked, the meeting did its job, whatever else happened.
-
Use the caller sheet as a checklist for the facilitator, who can try to avoid “No agenda sent” and “Nobody owns the task” next time.
-
Check the winning line
If the moments come in random order, 30 players see a first line after about 13 of them; ask the winner when each square on the line happened and compare with your checklist.
Meeting bingo variations
-
Meeting variation
Reverse bingo: the facilitator wins if the meeting reaches “Ends early” with fewer than five squares covered by the team; otherwise the attendees choose next week's snack.
-
Blackout round
Card 1 needs all 24 moments, “Spreadsheet on screen” to “Late arrival”; if they come in random order, one card fills after 41.3 of the 42 on average, so save it for a long event.
-
Quick 4x4 round
A 4x4 card needs 16 of the 42 moments and no free space; one card is full after about 40.5 moments instead of 41.3.
First 15 entries on the Meeting caller sheet
Seed "meeting-bingo" gives this order, the same one the caller sheet prints (use it as a checklist, or call from it). With these entries in this order, card 8 of the first 30 completes the N column (“Phone buzzes”, “Parking lot item”, “Early leaver” and “Room double-booked”) on entry 18, and card 2 is the first full card on entry 40.
| # | Entry | Cards marked (of 30) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Laptop dies | 16 of 30 |
| 2 | Recap for latecomer | 19 of 30 |
| 3 | No agenda sent | 19 of 30 |
| 4 | Room double-booked | 17 of 30 |
| 5 | Ends early | 20 of 30 |
| 6 | Someone eats lunch | 17 of 30 |
| 7 | Could be an email | 16 of 30 |

Frequently asked questions
How many moments are on the Meeting bingo list?
42, from Action items listed to You go first. A 5x5 card with a free center uses 24 of them, so each card leaves out 18. The shortest entry is Ends early (10 characters) and the longest is Spreadsheet on screen (21).
Are all Meeting bingo cards the same?
No. Card 1 and card 2 of this set share 13 of their 24 squares, and every card is checked so none of the 30 in a free set repeats. About 2.19 × 10³⁵ different arrangements are possible from the 42 moments (353,697,121,050 different selections of 24).
How many Meeting bingo cards per person?
Usually one. Extra cards speed the game up only a little: on this list a first line took a median 13 moments with 30 cards in play, 11 with 60 (30 players on two cards each) and 15 with just 10. Two cards each suit a small group that wants a quicker game. A free set of 30 covers 15 players on two cards each.
How do you play Meeting bingo?
There is no caller: everyone marks a square the moment it happens or is said, such as “Wrong meeting link” or “Someone on mute”. The first complete line wins; the caller sheet is the host's checklist.
How long does Meeting bingo take?
A Meeting game with 30 players usually reaches its first line after 13 moments (9-16 in 80% of simulated games). A blackout takes about 38; with 10 players the first line needs about 15.
Can I print Meeting bingo cards for free?
Yes. All 42 moments are loaded above, so choose a card count up to 30 and press Print cards, or Download PDF to print later at one card per sheet (30 sheets for a full set). The shuffled caller sheet prints separately; nothing is uploaded or stored on a server.
How do I make my own Meeting bingo cards?
Open Edit words in the generator above: it already holds the 42 moments, one per line. Replace “Parking lot item” with something from your own group, add inside jokes or names, and the sample card redraws at once. 5x5 cards need 24 entries or more.
