About Networking Event bingo

Networking Event Bingo turns a room of strangers into a set of small goals: deliver your “Elevator pitch”, “Introduce two people”, find a “Mutual connection”, survive an “Awkward silence” and leave with a “Follow-up email” to send. It suits mixers, alumni evenings, career fairs and industry meetups, and it gives nervous first-timers a reason to start conversations.

On a 5x5 card with a free center, Networking Event bingo shows 24 of the 41 moments, so each one lands on about 59% of the cards: in a set of 30, “Elevator pitch” or “Business card swap” appears on roughly 18 cards. Card 1 leaves out 17 of them, including “Elevator pitch”, “Firm handshake” and “Drink in one hand”, so no single card can mark everything.

There is no caller: everyone marks a square the moment it happens or is said, such as “Follow-up email” or “So what do you do?”. The first complete line wins; the caller sheet is the host's checklist.

How many moments until Networking Event bingo has a winner

Nobody controls the order here, so this table assumes the 41 moments come up in random order: 150 shuffled orders on the first 60 cards of this set. With 30 players the first line comes after a median 12 moments; a blackout needs 37 of the 41, so most games end on a line.

How to play Networking Event bingo

  1. Print the Networking Event cards

Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with “Forgot their name”, “Follow-up promise”, “So what do you do?”, “Nervous laugh” and “Standing by the wall”.

  2. Watch and mark, no caller needed

Players mark a square the moment it happens or is said, “Follow-up email” for example. Keep the shuffled caller sheet (opening with “Juggling a plate”, “Job opening mentioned” and “Shared hobby”) as your checklist, or read from it to run a called game instead.

  3. Frame the squares as goals rather than jokes; “Offer to help” and “Ask a good question” lead to better conversations than counting name tags.

  4. Hosts can seed the room by pairing first-timers early, which makes “Speed networking” and “Introduce two people” easy squares to reach.

  5. Bring the card home: unmarked squares like “Follow-up email” and “Connect online” become the to-do list for the next morning.

  6. Check the winning line

If the moments come in random order, 30 players see a first line after about 12 of them; ask the winner when each square on the line happened and compare with your checklist.

Networking Event bingo variations

  • Networking Event variation

Connector challenge: a square only counts if you also introduce the person you met to someone else, and a full row of five introductions earns first pick of the desserts.

  • Blackout round

Card 1 needs all 24 moments, “Forgot their name” to “First-timer”; if they come in random order, one card fills after 40.3 of the 41 on average, so save it for a long event.

  • Quick 4x4 round

A 4x4 card needs 16 of the 41 moments and no free space; one card is full after about 39.5 moments instead of 40.3.

First 15 entries on the Networking Event caller sheet

Seed "networking-event" gives this order, the same one the caller sheet prints (use it as a checklist, or call from it). With these entries in this order, card 26 of the first 30 completes the diagonal from the top left (“Juggling a plate”, “Introduce two people”, “Shared hobby” and “Weather small talk”) on entry 11, and card 8 is the first full card on entry 39.

Frequently asked questions

How many moments are on the Networking Event bingo list?

41, from Ask a good question to Weather small talk. A 5x5 card with a free center uses 24 of them, so each card leaves out 17. The shortest entry is Panel Q&A (9 characters) and the longest is We should grab coffee (21).

Are all Networking Event bingo cards the same?

No. Card 1 and card 2 of this set share 15 of their 24 squares, and every card is checked so none of the 30 in a free set repeats. About 9.41 × 10³⁴ different arrangements are possible from the 41 moments (151,584,480,450 different selections of 24).

How many Networking Event bingo cards per person?

Usually one. Extra cards speed the game up only a little: on this list a first line took a median 12 moments with 30 cards in play, 11 with 60 (30 players on two cards each) and 15 with just 10. Two cards each suit a small group that wants a quicker game. A free set of 30 covers 15 players on two cards each. For a bigger room, make a second set with New shuffle: two sets are not checked against each other, but with about 9.41 × 10³⁴ possible cards a repeat is vanishingly unlikely, and one caller sheet serves both because every set uses the same 41 moments.

How do you play Networking Event bingo?

There is no caller: everyone marks a square the moment it happens or is said, such as “Follow-up email” or “So what do you do?”. The first complete line wins; the caller sheet is the host's checklist.

How long does Networking Event bingo take?

A Networking Event game with 30 players usually reaches its first line after 12 moments (8-15 in 80% of simulated games). A blackout takes about 37; with 10 players the first line needs about 15.

Can I print Networking Event bingo cards for free?

Yes, up to 30 unique cards per set at no cost and without an account. Pick how many you need, then use Print cards or Download PDF: each card gets its own page with the title “Networking Event Bingo” on top, and the caller sheet lists all 41 moments in this set's shuffled order.

How do I make my own Networking Event bingo cards?

Open Edit words in the generator above: it already holds the 41 moments, one per line. Replace “Same hometown” with something from your own group, add inside jokes or names, and the sample card redraws at once. 5x5 cards need 24 entries or more.
