About Christmas Classroom bingo

A Christmas card for teachers, built from the last school weeks before Winter break: Craft time with Glitter glue, a Handprint ornament, the Holiday concert, Pajama day and the Classroom mailbox. The 45 squares are classroom words children already use, so they can read most of the card themselves and it fits a party period, an indoor recess or a quick end-of-day game.

This Christmas Classroom list is 45 entries long and a 5x5 card with a free center takes 24, which leaves 21 off each card. That is why one entry (Glitter glue, say) appears on about 16 of 30 cards: card 1, for instance, has no Glue stick or Construction paper.

The caller reads the 45 entries from a shuffled caller sheet and players mark them; the first complete line (row, column or diagonal) wins.

When to play Christmas Classroom bingo

Christmas 2026 falls on Friday, December 25. For a classroom round, schools close from December 24, so the last Friday before the break, December 18, is the usual slot. At home or at a party, play on Friday, December 25 itself.

In 2027 it falls on Saturday, December 25. Printing 30 cards at one card per page takes 30 sheets plus the caller sheet, so print a few days ahead and keep the share link (seed "christmas-classroom") to reprint the same set.

How long Christmas Classroom bingo lasts

This list was simulated 150 times in random call orders on its first 60 cards. A room of 30 usually has a line by call 13, which is about 2 minutes at 10 seconds a call, and a full card by call 41 of 45.

How to host Christmas Classroom bingo

  1. Print the Christmas Classroom cards

Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with Pajama day, Winter break, Ribbon, Paper snowflake and Show and tell.

  2. Print the caller sheet

All 45 entries appear on it in shuffled order, opening with Holiday traditions, Scissors, Name tag, Hat day and Coloring page; tick each one as you read it out.

  3. Give each call a one-sentence prompt, such as 'Name one thing you would put in a Lunch box', to turn the game into a speaking activity.

  4. Let a different student be Line leader and caller each round; reading words like Construction paper aloud is good practice for confident readers.

  5. Link it to the World map: when Holiday traditions is called, ask a student to share how their family celebrates in December, whatever the holiday.

  6. Call until someone shouts bingo

With 30 cards, expect the first line near call 13 (December calendar in this set's order) and a blackout near call 41; check the winner's squares against your ticked list.

Christmas Classroom bingo variations

  • Christmas Classroom variation

Classroom scavenger bingo: before calling, students must find the real item in the room (Scissors, Markers, Gold star, Cubby) and touch it before marking the square. First full row tidies the craft table.

  • Blackout round

Card 1 needs all 24 squares, Pajama day to Markers; on average one card fills after 44.2 of the 45 calls (98% of the deck).

  • Quick 4x4 round

A 4x4 card needs 16 of the 45 entries and no free space; one card is full after about 43.3 calls instead of 44.2.

First 15 calls of this Christmas Classroom set

Seed "christmas-classroom" gives this order, the same one the caller sheet prints. With these calls, card 7 of the first 30 completes the N column (Construction paper, Sing-along, Holiday traditions and Line leader) on call 10, and card 26 is the first full card on call 42.

Frequently asked questions

How many words are on the Christmas Classroom bingo list?

45, from Class gift to Writing prompt. A 5x5 card with a free center uses 24 of them, so each card leaves out 21. The shortest entry is Cubby (5 characters) and the longest is Pinecone bird feeder (20).

Are all Christmas Classroom bingo cards the same?

No. Card 1 and card 2 of this set share 17 of their 24 squares, and every card is checked so none of the 30 in a free set repeats. About 2.34 × 10³⁶ different arrangements are possible from the 45 entries (3,773,655,750,150 different selections of 24).

How many Christmas Classroom bingo cards per person?

Usually one. Extra cards speed the game up only a little: on this list a first line took a median 13 calls with 30 cards in play, 11 with 60 (30 players on two cards each) and 16 with just 10. Two cards suit adults who want a faster game; young children do best with one. A free set of 30 covers 15 players on two cards each.

How long does Christmas Classroom bingo take?

A Christmas Classroom game with 30 players usually reaches its first line after 13 calls (9-16 in 80% of simulated games), about 2 minutes at one call every 10 seconds. A blackout takes about 41; with 10 players the first line needs about 16.

Can I print Christmas Classroom bingo cards for free?

Yes, up to 30 unique cards per set at no cost and without an account. Pick how many you need, then use Print cards or Download PDF: each card gets its own page with the title “Christmas Classroom Bingo” on top, and the caller sheet lists all 45 entries in this set's shuffled order.

How do I make my own Christmas Classroom bingo cards?

Start from this list: the 45 entries are already in the generator, so delete Glitter glue or any other entry, type your own one per line and the cards update as you type. Keep at least 24 entries for 5x5 cards (16 for 4x4); the share link reprints exactly the same set.
