About Spanish Animals bingo
Spanish Animals Bingo lists farm, wild, sea and garden animals with their articles, from “el perro” and “la gallina” to “el hipopótamo”, “el pulpo” and “la ardilla”. Every square has a picture, so it works as picture bingo for young learners, and the articles help older students learn each noun's gender, including tricky pairs like “el gallo” and “la gallina”.
On a 5x5 card with a free center, Spanish Animals bingo shows 24 of the 41 entries, so each one lands on about 59% of the cards: in a set of 30, el perro or el gato appears on roughly 18 cards. Card 1 leaves out 17 of them, including el gato, el pájaro and el cerdo, so no single card can mark everything.
A host reads out one entry at a time from the printed caller sheet (all 41 of them, shuffled); players daub the square if their card has it and call bingo on a full line.

How to host Spanish Animals bingo
-
Print the Spanish Animals cards
Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with la araña, la abeja, la cebra, el caballo and el lobo.
-
Print the caller sheet
All 41 entries appear on it in shuffled order, opening with la hormiga, la cebra, el cerdo, el oso and el búho; tick each one as you read it out.
-
Call the animal sound or a quick mime instead of the word, and let the class name it in Spanish, such as “el león” for a roar, before anyone marks.
-
Point out that “el pez” is a live fish while “el pescado” is fish as food, a distinction learners meet as soon as they order a meal.
-
Group the calls by habitat, farm first, then the zoo, then the sea, and ask players to say “vive en la granja” or “vive en el mar”.
-
Call until someone shouts bingo
With 30 cards, expect the first line near call 12 (la araña in this set's order) and a blackout near call 38; check the winner's squares against your ticked list.
Spanish Animals bingo variations
-
Spanish Animals variation
Gender sort bingo: the caller says an animal without the article, such as “ballena”, and players must call out “el” or “la” correctly before marking. A wrong article means waiting one turn.
-
Blackout round
Card 1 needs all 24 squares, la araña to el perro; on average one card fills after 40.3 of the 41 calls (98% of the deck).
-
Picture bingo for pre-readers
Use 3x3 cards with the 41 entries that have a symbol, such as el perro, el gato and el pájaro.

Frequently asked questions
How many words are on the Spanish Animals bingo list?
41, from el búho to la vaca. A 5x5 card with a free center uses 24 of them, so each card leaves out 17. The shortest entry is el oso (6 characters) and the longest is el hipopótamo (13).
Are all Spanish Animals bingo cards the same?
No. Card 1 and card 2 of this set share 13 of their 24 squares, and every card is checked so none of the 30 in a free set repeats. About 9.41 × 10³⁴ different arrangements are possible from the 41 entries (151,584,480,450 different selections of 24).
How many Spanish Animals bingo cards per person?
One card each is standard. In 150 simulated games of this list, 30 players on one card each got a first line after a median 12 calls; with two cards each (60 in play) it came after 10, and 10 single cards took 15. Two cards suit adults who want a faster game; young children do best with one. A free set of 30 covers 15 players on two cards each.
How long does Spanish Animals bingo take?
A Spanish Animals game with 30 players usually reaches its first line after 12 calls (9-15 in 80% of simulated games), about 2 minutes at one call every 10 seconds. A blackout takes about 38; with 10 players the first line needs about 15.
Can I print Spanish Animals bingo cards for free?
Yes, up to 30 unique cards per set at no cost and without an account. Pick how many you need, then use Print cards or Download PDF: each card gets its own page with the title “Spanish Animals Bingo” on top, and the caller sheet lists all 41 entries in this set's shuffled order.
How do I make my own Spanish Animals bingo cards?
Start from this list: the 41 entries are already in the generator, so delete el zorro or any other entry, type your own one per line and the cards update as you type. Keep at least 24 entries for 5x5 cards (16 for 4x4); the share link reprints exactly the same set.
Is there a picture version of Spanish Animals bingo?
41 of the 41 entries have a picture symbol (🐶 el perro, 🐱 el gato, 🐦 el pájaro, 🐟 el pez). Print 3x3 cards with symbol entries such as el caballo and la vaca for children who cannot read yet; symbols show on screen and in browser printing.
